Las unión de las dos tecnologías más irritantes
He llegado a este apunte muy gracioso. Hace una “traducción al inglés” del FAQ de Adobe sobre su adquisición de Macromedia. La nota de prensa también está en inglés, pero en un lenguaje que no dice absolutamente nada y lleno de frases hechas, el lenguaje de las “notas de prensa”.
Lo cito porque hay una “traducción” que me ha hecho mucha gracia y tiene toda la razón:
Where by “complementary” we mean “the two leading technologies that irritate people when they’re used in lieu of regular web pages.” Note that we’re using PDF to serve this very FAQ — in our synergistic future, perhaps we’ll serve our FAQs in a hybrid PDF/Flash format. One can dream.
O sea:
Con “complementario” queremos decir “las dos tecnologías líderes en irritar a la gente cuando son usadas en lugar de páginas web normales”. Fíjese que estamos usando PDF para publicar este FAQ– en nuestro futuro sinergético posiblemente lo haremos en un formato híbrido PDF-Flash.
Que bueno. ¿Cómo hay gente tan lista para capturar y expresas esas “verdades” en tan pocas palabras y con tan buen humor? Soy un amargo, ya lo sé.

Please note use of present tense.
“Will all the reductions in employees come from one company or the other, or both companies?
Any potential reductions will be carefully considered and are likely to impact both organizations.”
Have we mentioned that PDF is an excellent format for distributing résumés?
