No es problema que el código sea "rocket science", sino que liberarlo con GPL no tiene ningún sentido práctico, ni ético. Los efectos prácticos serían casi similares a una BSD, licencia que no me agrada (aunque sea "libre", más que libertad otorga poder). Sí, me la tendré que currar (de hecho llevo días dándole vueltas) y seguramente su validez será dudosa.

“Activities other than copying, distribution and modification are not covered by this License;” añadiendo la “puesta a disposición públic”.
es cuestión de revisarla y modificarla. y si te gusta al GPL tendrás una idea aproxiamada de cómo será.
